Why should you archive an event?

Every so often you should review the list of active events in your organization (or business unit).

There are many reasons to archive an event:

  • It keeps your event list in the Attendease Dashboard tidy with only your active events

  • It will free up the Event URL for reuse

  • It will ensure that API access (for both public and private calls) is restricted.

When should you archive an event?

You should archive an event when it is over and your audience no longer needs to access the website.

How to archive an event

To archive an event, go to Event > More > Archive

Select the "Archive This Event" check box, and click Save in the lower right.

You can also archive the event from Event > General > Details by scrolling to the bottom and selecting the red "Archive This Event?" button.

What happens when you archive an event?

  • The event will be removed from the default view in the event dashboard (you can still see it by searching for "Archived" events).

  • The Event URL will no longer be tied to this event, and will be made available to other events.

  • The website will be unpublished.

  • The API will no longer be accessible.

  • All other event functionality will remain intact.
