Through the Page Editor interface, you are able to manage your website content - everything from text, images, and videos to registration forms and schedules. To reach the Page Editor screen select the Website tab, then the Site Manager menu item, and then select the page you want to edit by clicking the name of the page.

Content Blocks

Each page is comprised of row-based "content blocks." A content block, or "block", can be added, edited, deleted, and positioned on a page. In the example below, each red rectangle represents a different content block. Each block has its own content, preferences, and advanced settings.

Static content block

In this type of block, the content is managed by editing the content block.

Dynamic content block

This block dynamically pulls content from another area of the admin. Examples of dynamic blocks:

  • Speakers

  • Sponsors

  • Attendee Registration

  • Session Schedule

You must add content to the corresponding areas of the admin for each of these blocks to pull in content. For example, if you want the "Attendee Registration" block to pull in your registration content and settings you must first have set up registration on the Passes, Pricing Groups and Codes, and Registration Forms screens. You can access these screens via the Registration tab.

Add a block

To add a block, select the "Add Block" button at the bottom of the page.

Next, select a block from one of the 6 categories:

  • Media

  • Information

  • Structure

  • Registration

  • Schedule

  • Sponsors

Click on a category heading to reveal the available blocks. When you select a block you'll have the option to manage content, customize preferences, and target the block with custom CSS (for advanced users only).

Tip: It is often difficult to know exactly how a block may look on a page. Rather than spending a lot of time adding content and setting preferences right away, just add the block to the page and see how it looks. It's easy to edit or delete a block so this is a good way to get a feel for how the block could look on the page.

Edit, reposition, or delete a block

To edit, reposition, or delete a content block that has been added to a webpage hover your cursor over the area it occupies on the page. Icons for these options will appear in the top right-hand corner of the block.

Reposition

The first two options - the up and down arrows - allow you to reposition the block on the page.

Edit

The third option - the "edit" icon - will allow you to manage block content and/or set block preferences. Selecting "edit" will open a dialog window with the available content options and preferences.

Delete

The fourth option - the "delete" icon - will allow you to delete the block.

Previewing a page

The Page Editor provides an accurate preview of what your page will look like when published. However, it does not provide a preview of page functionality. For instance, elements like dialog boxes, videos, and the site navigation will not function correctly in this view. To get an accurate preview of functionality you must use the preview option under the "Event Website" menu in the top right-hand corner of the admin.

Choosing a page to edit

To switch between pages in the Page Editor use the "Choose Page" drop-down menu at the top of the interface. Simply click the drop-down menu and select a page.
